Particular recognition was extended to the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) and its leader, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, who secured a fourth consecutive mandate.

Venezuela underscored that Browne’s victory reflects the confidence of the electorate in his leadership and the continuity of policies aimed at national development.

Text reads: “The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela extends its most sincere congratulations to the people and Government of Antigua and Barbuda after the successful day of general elections held on April 30, 2026. This process not only ratifies their unwavering commitment to democracy, but also stands as an exemplary testimony of civility and popular sovereignty.”

The communiqué framed this achievement as a milestone in Antigua and Barbuda’s democratic journey, while also noting the broader significance of electoral processes in safeguarding the principles of self-determination and independence across the Caribbean region.

Beyond congratulatory remarks, the Bolivarian Government used the occasion to reaffirm its intention to strengthen ties with Antigua and Barbuda and reaffirms Venezuela’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, highlighting the importance of solidarity, mutual respect and cooperation as guiding principles in the relationship between the two nations.

Caracas expressed its readiness to expand collaboration in areas such as trade, cultural exchange and regional integration initiatives. By emphasizing shared values and historical bonds, Venezuela positioned the bilateral relationship as a cornerstone of its broader diplomatic engagement within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

In this sense, the communiqué reaffirms Venezuelan commitment to building bridges of friendship and cooperation, stressing that both nations stand united in their pursuit of prosperity, peace and respect for democratic institutions.

This diplomatic gesture comes at a time when Caribbean nations are increasingly seeking to consolidate regional unity in the face of global challenges. Venezuela’s message of support underscores its role as a partner invested in the stability and progress of its neighbors.

By aligning itself with Antigua and Barbuda’s democratic achievements, Caracas reinforces its image as a nation committed to solidarity and regional integration.

The communiqué, dated May 1, 2026, reflects Venezuela’s ongoing efforts to maintain strong diplomatic relations and to celebrate democratic milestones across the hemisphere.
